An 18-0 run that started before the end of the first half and extended into the start of the second half helped propel the Holdingford boys basketball team over Royalton in the season opener in Holdingford, Dec. 1.
In the end, the Huskers held on to the lead they built with the run to earn a 68-57 victory over Royalton.
The Royals hope to rebound from the loss to Holdingford with a home game against Kimball, Tuesday.
The Huskers host Sauk Centre, Tuesday.
Another team that opened its season was the Pierz Pioneers.
The Pioneers' season opener was a 49-69 loss to Mora, Tuesday.
Pierz will travel to play Long Prairie-Grey Eagle, Thursday.
