Holdingford was defeated in three games Thursday by Belgrade-Brooten-El-rosa.
The 25-14, 25-15, 25-14 losses gave the Huskers a 0-5 record in the Central Minnesota Conference and 3-14 overall. The Husker leaders were: Serving-Jordyn Patrick, 10-for-10; blocking-Ari Schmidt, one; kills-Schmidt, seven; assists-Paige Soltis, 14; digs-Kendra Gerads, 22.
Osakis 3, Holdingford 2
The Huskers fell Oct. 1 in a close contest to Osakis.
The 3-2 match was decided at 15-13 in the final set for the Silverstreaks. Holdingford had rallied from losses of 25-20 and 25-14 in the first two sets, to win 25-16 and 25-18 in the third and fourth sets.
Serving was big part of the Husker attack. Cassie Skwira 20-for-20 serving included three aces. Patrick, 24-of-26, finished with two ace serves.
The team's offense also clicked as Gerads, eight kills and Schmidt, seven kills, took advantage of the 21 assists by Soltis. Defensively Danielle Lyon had five blocks.
Starting the offense, and keeping the ball alive, were the 39 digs by Marissa Gerads.
