An eight-point run by Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted (HLWW) late in the first half led to a 61-45 loss by the Huskers on the evening of Jan. 3 in Howard Lake.
The score was 22-21 until that run and from then on HLWW held the lead. Holdingford had a good game by Tyler Huls, who scored 13 points and Tyson Patrick who dropped in two-three pointers and finished with eight points. However, the Huskers never found a way to stop HLWW's 6-foot-7-inch senior Brock Bangasser who scored 17 first half points for HLWW and 25 for the game.
The Huskers did have defensive highlights recording eight steals and two blocked shots. Holdingford will host Pierz Thursday, Jan .10 and Kimball Tuesday, Jan. 15.
