Holdingford wins second game versus Bulldogs

The Holdingford Huskers baseball team won the second game of a doubleheader against Paynesville by a score of 7-4 April 25 at Holdingford High School in Holdingford.
Holdingford scored two runs in the first inning, but the Bulldogs answered back with three in the second to take a lead. The Huskers tied it up in the fourth before scoring four more runs in the sixth.
Dominick Hoikka pitched the win for Holdingford, going all seven innings. He gave up six hits and four runs while striking out four.
Drew Lange (triple) got two hits and an RBI for Holdingford, while Masyn Patrick (triple), Luke Bieniek, Jaxon Bartkowicz (RBI), Hoikka, Connor Breth (RBI), Mavrick Novitzki (RBI) and Wyatt Pilarski each recorded hits.
The Huskers lost the first game 10-3.
Paynesville scored four in the first and added three each in the fifth and seventh.
Holdingford's runs came in the fourth (one) and fifth (two). Patrick and Brodi Huls led the Huskers batting corps with two hits each, while Bieniek (RBI) Hoikka (RBI), Chasey Lyon and Novitzki each logged a hit.
Lange pitched five innings and took the loss. Novitzki pitched two innings.
